Incorporated in 1985 as Clackamas County's only
shelter for women & children escaping family violence, CWS has
safely harbored over 7,000 women & children within the walls of our
two shelters. Each night thirty-two women & children call these
shelters "home" as they regain control of their lives and plan for
their futures.
In addition to emergency shelter, CWS has
responded to over 70,000 crisis calls in the last 16 years. CWS personnel who
provide support, information on restraining orders, other resources,
and just listen when someone needs to talk.
Because of the negative impact of family violence
on youth, CWS has developed a program specifically for children.
Through CWS' Children's Program, mothers receive parenting support and
information. Children benefit from play therapy, groups, and education
and prevention classes, as well as individual attention so that they
can break the cycle of violence in their adult lives.

I WANT TO BECOME TERESA'S FRIEND
The Lancette Memorial Ride is the vision of the firends and family of avid cyclist Teresa Wilson Beiser who tragically lost her life on November 10, 2009. In order to bring something positive to this tragic situation, these friends decided to create this ride and partner with CWS as a way to both support our organization and inform people about issues surrounding domestic violence.
This "self sponsored" event created the Friend's of Teresa to give our community the opportunity to join us in honoring this amazing woman as well as support the Clackamas Women's Services. It's impossible to read Teresa's story, learn about the out come of domestic violence without being moved. Don't think that your donation is to small. Donate
$25, $50 or even $1,000, every bit helps. This is a tax deductible donation.
